The Utility Services Department is requesting approval of Legislative Intent and Permission to Advertise an amendment to the County's fats, oils, and grease program Ordinance, in particular Section 110-70 and 110-72, as shown below in underline. The amendments shown below provide clear direction regarding vertical multi-unit residential units in their requirements of implementation and inspection and fees associated with the FOG program.

SECTION 2. Section 110-70. entitled Fats, oil, and grease management program. is hereby amended to read as follows:

The intent of the fats, oil and grease management program is to minimize the introduction of fats, oil and grease and petroleum products into the county owned collection system. Wastes containing fats, oil and grease and petroleum products shall be discharged to the county owned collection system only in accordance with the requirements set forth in this article. All facilities that discharge fats, oil and grease into the county owned collection system, with the exception of single-family homes, shall comply with the fats, oil and grease management program by installing the required grease interceptor or grease trap.
