Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve:
1) the appointment of Austin Helton as the County Representative for the Health Care Provider Group,
2) the appointment of Corina Savela as the County Representative for the Health Care Consumer Group, and
3) the re-appointment of Jerry Visco as the County Representative for the Health Care Purchaser Group.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Health Council of East Central Florida, Inc. (HCECF) is a private, non-profit health planning agency established by the Florida Legislature in 1982 (Florida Statute 408.033). This agency is involved in a wide array of planning and evaluation projects, as well as administrative and fiscal management activities in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners makes three (3) appointments to the Council. One in the nongovernmental health care consumer group, one in the health care provider group, and one in the health care purchaser industry group. Appointments are for two (2) years.
The previous appointments for the Health Care Provider Group (Maria Stahl) and the Health Care Consumer Group (Paulette Howell) resigned from the HCECF. HCECF staff have identified Austin Helton (Chief Executive Officer of the Brevard Health Alliance) as the replacement for the Health Care Provider Group and Corina Savela as the replacement for the Health Care Consumer Group. Jerry Visco (Director of Human Resources) has been the County’s representative for the Health Care Provider Group and has been recommended by the HCECF for re-appointment.
